Historically, extrusion 3D printing processes like FFF have been painstakingly slow, taking hours to produce a relatively simple geometry and days to produce complex designs. At Essentium, we tackled this barrier head on. The HSE 180•S 3D Printer prints your parts 5-15x faster than conventional FFF printers.

Solution

How? By designing the entire machine for the performance needed to support our High Speed Extrusion printing process. The HSE 180•S 3D Printer uses an all linear servo motor X-Y stage, 3G acceleration, and 1 M/sec movement speed, giving us the ability to eliminate wasted movement while printing. In order to match the speed of the motion system, we created the most advanced direct-drive servo controlled extruder system yet. This combination of advanced motion control and power gives the HSE 3D Printing Platform not only the fastest prints but better control and accuracy over prints compared to traditional printers.

Solution

With increased speed and force comes the need for a world-class nozzle. The HSE Hozzle™ – Essentium’s proprietary nozzle – is an integrated heating and temperature sensing unit that achieves unmatched performance and can heat from 550°C in 3 seconds. It has a sapphire tip, giving you the ability to extrude the highest performance materials available.

FLASHFUSE TECHNOLOGY

FlashFuse-enabled HSE

Bringing the strength of injection molded parts to 3D printing.  FlashFuse™ filament technology is a two-part, electric welding solution that combines nanomaterial technology and hardware technology that harnesses the power of Plasma to solve the Z-Strength issue that has long plagued FDM printed parts.

Using this patented technology, you are now able to fuse the individual layers in the printed part together inside the printer as the parts are being built. No postprocessing. This technology is scalable and can be applied to any type of thermoplastic.
